MySubletter · Subletting marketplace · Platform rebuild

MySubletter

I developed an existing real-estate script into a subletting marketplace, adding features and improving reliability across several engagements.

Live at mysubletter.com since 21 August 2026. Engagement closed 14 September 2026.

What the business needed

The founder had a generic Laravel script and needed reviews, paid boosts, messaging, account merging, and a safe production cutover, without breaking what already worked.

What I worked on

  1. 01Added reviews, paid listing promotion, favorites, messaging, and notification choices.
  2. 02Fixed account-access problems, including an administrator action that could sign in as the wrong person.
  3. 03Added editable forms and address suggestions.
  4. 04Prepared the move to the live website and cleared old login sessions.

KEY DECISIONS

Fix account access before launch

I fixed three access-control issues and the administrator sign-in problem before moving the changes to the live website.

Make the launch predictable

I added checks around account merging and cleared old login sessions during the move to the live website.

What the project delivered

4times re-hired by the same clientSame founder, four follow-on hires.

Checks behind the work

These checks describe the software at the recorded point in the project.

556556 automated testsContaining 1,537 individual checks, up from 375 tests at the second milestone.
619619 application routes, the addresses used by its pages and software functions, recorded at delivery.

“Patrick was great to work with. He was extremely responsive, worked very fast without sacrificing quality, and communicated everything with clarity. He knew the ins and outs of all the code and could implement what I asked for without any trouble. He also built in safety and optimization features before I could even ask. I would definitely hire Patrick again and I recommend working with him if you need a reliable, high functioning, well designed website.”
